Linda Johnson

I am new to the photographic and journalism scene, only taking up serious music and entertainment photography within the last year. I have been in training with my husband, Kurt Johnson, POW Magazine’s Photo Assistant. I shot my first event, the 2021 Huachica Music Festival at Sonoma, California which resulted in my first ever published photos appearing on POW Magazine in my own photo gallery as part of the Huachica Music Festival article. My music background and interest in 60’s and early 70’s Psych Rock goes back to the 60’s when I used to listen to my 45 records on my little 45 record player in my bedroom during my childhood. I still have those 45’s and love to listen to songs from the Strawberry Alarm Clock and Jefferson Airplane . I also enjoy listening to albums that we have accumulated from recent shows like “The Black Angels” and “The Osee’s”. My favorite band at Huachica was “Thee Sacred Souls”. I am now retired. With POW I am a contributing photographer and will also become a videographer. I may in the future contribute written articles. My professional background is in education. I have retired as a high school principal with my specialty being in English and English second language learning. I look forward to the opportunity to cover more shows and events in the future with Kurt, as a husband and wife photo/video/writing team. I view this as my opportunity to help promote and contribute to live music.
