Three Quarter Skies new song ‘Crows‘
Rising shoegaze band, Three Quarter Skies formed by the drummer of Slowdive, Simon Scott. ‘Crows‘ is described by Scott as “the most personal song I’ve ever written.” ‘Crows‘ explores themes of grief through a captivating soundscape. Distorted guitar riffs weave through a backdrop of field recordings from a nature preserve, creating a disorienting yet strangely serene atmosphere. Unconventional percussion adds a unique layer of texture to the mix. Simon Scott worked with Dave Pearce from Flying Saucer Attack for the mix and the two are now working on more music together, which is very exciting.
E Gone of Sweden Takes a Trip with “Adventures Before The Body”
E Gone of Sweden’s latest album, “Adventures Before The Body,” is a psychedelic folk odyssey that dropped on July 5, 2024. Adventures Before The Body is an excursion into psychedelic folk music with guitars, chimes, bells, and Eastern instruments. The pastoral sounds drone in atmospheric clouds while guitars, banjo and other string instruments play in the niche style of so called ‘primitive’ guitar styling of the 1960s instrumental folk scene. The finger picked notes hold tension by bringing in Eastern modes with a Western musical structure which creates a world music sound with splashing of 70’s psych.

Annie Taylor “In Your Head”
Annie Taylor‘s new single ‘In Your Head‘ has punk rock guitars, and vocalist Gini’s edgy vocals. The bass and drums are big and drive the dynamics of the song. The guitars build and wail with distortion hitting raw against the clashing of blazing drum cymbals. Released in May 2024 ‘In Your Head’ was produced by Chris Sheldon who has worked with the Foo Fighters. The music has an excellent production with a huge sound that shows off Annie Taylor‘s electrifying high energy blend of grunge and punk rock.

The Crystal Teardrops new single with chiming garage rock
Modern psychedelic rock is projected in swirling liquid lights across the latest 7″ vinyl released by The Crystal Teardrop in May 2024. Heffernan & Pärk‘s Cosmic Atmospheres on Harmonic Coast
Electronic synthesized pulsations, arpeggios and sci-fi vibrations with the hypnotic krautrock foundations inspired by artist like kraftwerk, Cluster and early Tangerine Dream. Heffern & Park‘s new album Sun Reflector released February 2024 delivers authentic vintage synths with warm, smooth tones with a velvety texture that only tube driven instruments can provide. The Asteroid No.4‘s ‘Rescue’ is shoegaze glory
San Francisco shoegaze rockers Asteroid No. 4‘s new song ‘Rescue‘ is optimistic showgaze music with sustained washed out echoing guitars, driving bass lines and soaring richly textured synths. The vocals are clear and present with a glowing cloud of reverb and echos surrounding it. Gentle harmonies back the voice and the song has a controlled layering of instruments showcasing their talent for crafting beautiful melodies amidst sonic textures. This is the first single from the upcoming album ‘Several Shapes of Solar Flares‘. This song was released while they toured with The Black Crowes along with a new set of reissues for the Self-Titled album and Northern Songs.

NEW AGE HEALERS synth driven single ‘Spin Out‘
April 20th 2024, 420, New Age Healers released ‘The Spin Out’ a showgaze album with buzzsaw synth lines vibrato guitars with density and snarling grit. The vocals are relaxed and blend into the instrumentation with their resonant delays. The first single ‘Spin Out‘ has a long 90s style intro via My Bloody Valentine. The vocals break in and the guitars and synth bring in some sparkling melodies. The modulating effects give the song a swirling feel with instrumentation being the focus of the music. The ending builds-up with fast staccato drive.

Emma Anderson Remix by Deary ‘For A Moment‘

DEAD SEA APES far-out psychedelic rock album ‘Rewilding’
Dead Sea Apes don’t travel by sea but rather by UFO. Their blazing guitars, aggressive droning and doom like drumming tear up the speakers. Dead Sea Apes, a Manchester band, has been creating heavy psychedelic rock since 2012 with more than a dozen albums. Their uniquely experimental blend of krautrock, garage rock, drone, showgaze, and stoner rock is way far-out. Their music has bleeding fuzz tones, endless echoes, and warbling effects laced together with hard drums, dirty bass lines and plenty of feedback. ‘Rewilding‘ is now available from Feeding Tube Records and Cardinal Fuzz.
