POW World Music Video Premiere: The Harmony Motel’s “Gettin’ Started Late”

Stanton Hall will be known to POW readers as the bassist for Portland’s The Zags. This year, he’s releasing a new album from his solo project The Harmony Motel- recorded as a result of quarantine, Topical Depression will be out August 13th with lead single “Gettin Started Late”‘s video out today!

Check out the world premiere of the video below. The video was recorded on Stanton’s recent epic family road trip and the tune has major bouncy, retro vibes and fun melodies that make you want to jump in your car for a weekend getaway. According to Stanton, “Bradley Skaught, singer-songwriter-guitarist for the most excellent Bay Area band The Bye Bye Blackbirds, came up with the rockin’ guitar solo and the cool guitar riffs heard during the verses and the last chorus. The reason why all the video footage during the guitar solo is from Memphis is because Bradley’s solo is so Steve-Cropper-meets-Alex-Chilton!”

Dig the video and stay tuned for a full review of Topical Depression next week!

Sheena Moore was raised in a rock n roll household- almost everything cool that she knows she learned from her dad. She spent some time playing organ and bass in bands, but stopped to pursue a career in fashion, both as a model and a designer. Sheena has always been extremely passionate about both music and fashion, particularly from the 60s era. Her enthusiasm for music as well as her connections to music scenes all over the west coast led her to joining the POW team in 2016, writing record reviews and covering shows such as Portland’s Nuggets Night. She currently splits her time between her day job at a bra company, working as a model, and writing for POW. Sheena resides in Portland, OR but she’s constantly traveling all over the west coast, and tries to find record stores, vintage shops and hip live shows wherever she goes.
