The Crystal Teardrop’s New Rocking Single ‘Running Out Of Time’

Bombastic psychedelic garage rock with catchy hooks and vintage tones from the UK. The Crystal Teardrop will have you grooving with ‘the best trip you ever had’ on their new single. ‘Running Out Of Time‘ features the energized vocals of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter, Alexandra Rose. The guitars jangle and strum with a staccato attack then bursting out into broken fuzz tones straight out of the 1960s. Organ backs the track ensure the fine polish and authentic summer of love nostalgia.

The band formed in 2023 and have been touring the UK and Europe with their high-energy live performances. Garage rock has always been best enjoyed live with blazing amps and the infectious drive of the music. Judging by the build and drive of these latest singles, The Crystal Teardrop must be exciting live.

Running Out Of Time‘ is their first physical release pressed on sold-out 7″ vinyl. In May of 2025 their first-full length album landed on streaming, titled ‘The Crystal Teardrop…Is Forming‘.

Their dedication to the pre-millennial rock sound is what defines the band. They have taken the music of the 60s and early 70s and enhanced the tones with modern production. The songwriting by Alexandra Rose often in collaboration with guitarist Leon Jones, is well considered and brings songs with high energy. The guitars are the foundation of the music and the interplay and effects are engaging.

The vocals are the centerpiece of the music. Alexandra Rose‘s voice is both Grace Slick and Joan Jett. The choruses are an ear-worm and can repeat in the mind of the listener for days to come. The vocal harmonies ring true and give strength to the starts and stops in the song. Garage rock is very much to prototype for punk and alternative rock and this fact is noticeable in this single.

I am a part of the emerging psychedelic musical revolution and the wizard behind the curtain at ThePsychRock.com. I am lucky enough to be in contact with performers and labels around the world and discuss music that is weird, transcendent, creative and psychedelic. It’s no surprise that I live in San Francisco, California where the psychedelic revolution was born. I am a multi-instrumentalist musician, songwriter, digital and visual artist in the bands Temple Rose and Black Satori. I have written about music for the ThePsychRock.com, GigSoup Music, Sic Magazine and professional corporate copy writing. Discovering new music from artists large and small gives me a special thrill and I feel compelled to share the excitement. My journey began when I started attending coffeehouse concerts at 14 years old, seeing acoustic and hardcore metal bands. I soon started making music of my own. A pivotal moment was when I picked up my first record player and started collecting vinyl records from the 1960s and early 1970s in acid folk, garage rock, psychedelic and krautrock genres. The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, and Black Sabbath laid a firm foundation. Then I discovered CAN, Ash Ra Tempel, Tangerine Dream, and Pink Floyd which blew convention out of the water and my musical horizon extended into the experimental and abstract. Today there are thousands of bands which have taken the legacy of psychedelic music and created something new. I seek out these bands and performers, spreading their latest revelations to the world. Some of my favorite contemporary artists are The Black Angels, Oh Sees, Woods, Acid Mothers Temple, Kikagaku Moyo and L.A. Witch.
