A Reason For Now is to be released on September 18th 2026 via Tonzonen Records in Germany. This is not a conventional album release, not by a long shot. Vibravoid‘s optical art work and multimedia inspirations reach a new height with limited edition multicolored “Flower Power” LP which includes CD, poster, insert and download, and a standard version “Love Glow” edition with CD, poster insert and download. The CD is enhanced with, “The most psychedelic movie to come from Düsseldorf” titled, In The Sign Of The Twin. If this is not enough to blow any collector’s mind there is a sensational book titled, ‘Creamcheese, LSD, Stroboskop and the Rock Revolution‘ which lays out the truth of the Düsseldorf music scene.
A Reason For Now is filled with intoxicating sounds. It is infused with the magic of the late 1960s yet completely modern. Vibravoid’s sound is a LSD trip and a surreal fantasy featuring reverse guitar, Eastern sitar, deeply psychedelic layers of sound blend to create a new creative maximum for the band. Vibravoid has released many great albums and somehow continues to best their prior efforts. Vibravoid has been dedicated to the psychedelic sound and aesthetic and evolved the genre through the 1990s to today.
Vibravoid has been the mystic torch bearer of the acid rock / psychedelic music in the kruat style since 1988 and are credited with inventing neo-kraut rock. Their influential presence in the 1990s underground played an important role in blending acid rock, garage rock, punk, rave and kosmische in what is now called neo-kraut rock bringing the aesthetics of the 1960s revolution into the modern age. Vibravoid has been dedicated to vinyl throughout their career and pushed colored, splatter, glow in the dark vinyl, op art and elaborate vinyl packaging which has been replicated across genres. They are an incredible live band and their live recordings are some of the most exciting for this writer. Their extensive discography is constantly evolving and has a powerful selection of incredible music.
The first music video single from A Reason For Now is ‘All The Scars Inside’ which is pure 60s psychedelia with 90s indie-rave vibes that can get the audience dancing. The cosmic sound of Indian instrumentation graces this track with sitar, tanpura and tabla bring the spirit of psychedelic culture alive. The mix has a warm analog feel bringing the layers of psychedelic audio into a pleasurable balance. The vocals of band leader Christian “Dr. Koch” drip with reverb and echo as his melodies dance in a 60s pop cantor. ‘All The Scars Inside‘ is the perfect song to pair with a liquid light show.
The album opens with ‘Till The End Of Time‘ which immediately greets the listener with bubbling synths, cutting repeater tremolo guitar, kicking the listener into far out sonic territory at the first seconds of A Reason For Now. The songs boasts a rich vintage guitar fuzz tones that guitarist dream of achieving. The chorus rings like an anthem as the instrumentation builds with sitars and exciting percussion. The music is upbeat, feels groovy and danceable with a push and drive that brings the energy.
A Reason For Now is exciting, upbeat and feels intoxicating. The sing-song melodies of the vocals bring to-mind the melodies of The Beatles and are juxtaposed by the complexity of the tonal instrumentation and the exuberant ornamentation of the instruments. Songs are accented with analog synth shooting sonic laser beams into the atmosphere combined with hard-cutting guitar lines layered in thick and rich kaleidoscopic textures. The psychedelic style is not subtle but rather Vibravoid is all-in with the psychedelia for every second of the album. There is no one who will listen to this album and miss the psychedelic nature of the music.
‘In the Sky Tonight‘ is a stand out track with an 80s meets the 60s sound. The songs has progressive rock elements taking the listener on a cosmic journey through the sky. The soaring song stands apart from the high energy dance rhythms of the album and brings the listener deeper into liquid lysergic atmospheres.
Kosmische and kruat-rock music are known for their long form songs extending 10-60 minutes and Vibravoid delivers this Düsseldorf sound on the album’s closer, ‘Strassenbahn‘. The song is driven by a tight motorik beat drenched in danceable pop and far-out psychedelic sounds. This is the trippiest song on the album summoning black holes, alien landscapes and hypnotic trance states for a grand finale to a new psychedelic masterpiece of an album.
The enhanced CD included in the vinyl package is titled, “In The Sign Of The Twin” and is a visual project created entirely by Vibravoid‘s leader and driving force Christian “Dr. Koch”. The short film transports the viewer into a ‘mysterious Victorian dream world‘. Featuring live action film with historical illustrations that merge into a surreal dream sequences, balloon rides and mushroom forests abound. The film was shot with the extraordinary creative passion of Christian “Dr. Koch” with little to no budget. It premiered in 2019 and has only been screened at exclusive events. In 2020 the soundtrack was released on vinyl with an extensive still framed booklet. Now, for the first time, it is available for public view. See the trailer below.
