    IXZHILION: Kraut rock from outta this world

    The year is 2022, and we are not living in the future that I wanted. There’s a seemingly never-ending pandemic still going on, live shows keep getting cancelled, Taylor Swift and Adele are causing vinyl I actually want to be delayed forever….it’s a drag. But, luckily there is one band who just released a debut that I can only sum up as “music for the future I want to be living in”. IXZHILION is that band. So far, the band has released 4 songs- their debut single, “ANKIMILION”, along with “IXZHILION” 1”, “GOATMEALION”, and “SIGNS OF IXZHILION”. Is it kraut rock? Is it post punk? Psych?     Stanton Hall will be known to POW readers as the bassist for Portland’s The Zags. This year, he’s releasing a new album from his solo project The Harmony Motel- recorded as a result of quarantine, Topical Depression will be out August 13th with lead single “Gettin Started Late”‘s video out today!     California Jangle from Across the Pond- 2 New Singles from The Gabriel’s Dawn

    Spring is here, and so is new sunshiney, twangy 70s pop from The Gabriel’s Dawn. 2 new singles have recently been released- “Loose Canyon” and “We” The band have all known each other socially for years. Gudg and Fran had some songs and they asked Leon if he fancied adding some guitar and soon after Stuart jumped on board and The Gabriel’s Dawn were officially born in 2020. Despite hailing from England, the band’s sound carries a clearly Californian influence- jangly Byrds style guitars, an early 70s folky, country-ish vibes all around.
